Job Description
Position overview:
The Utilities Coordinator will plan and schedule maintenance on our plant utility system assets and equipment following established program guidelines. In this role, you will work with maintenance planners and utility technicians to develop work plans and oversee areas including HVAC, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, soft water, RO water, fire water, process water, and process wastewater in our four Germantown, WI facilities. This position is responsible for working with operations leadership to coordinate repairs and services to ensure maximum asset availability. The Utilities Coordinator also provides indirect supervision to Utility Technicians on all three shifts.
Job responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee planned work on assigned systems using OEM recommendations and asset history
- Ensure all utility systems are kept in a safe operating condition
- Review daily rounds sheets provided by Utility Technicians to proactively identify issues
- Provide expert guidance to Utility Technicians necessary for proper troubleshooting and operation
- Plan and schedule maintenance downtime and deliver timely updates to key stakeholders
- Initiate procurement of specialty tools, materials, and outside contractors required in job plans
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of service records and provide related data to internal/external auditors, as needed
- Track and schedule necessary routine inspections on applicable equipment
- Assume responsibility for all federal, state, local, or other regulatory recordkeeping for assigned systems
- Lead capital improvement projects under the guidance of Maintenance & Engineering leadership
- Optimize process and procedures to reduce costs and improve overall efficiency and reliability
- Create, organize, and maintain documentation related to aforementioned items
- Ensure compliance with Gehl Foods safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements while following the company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Actively participate in the established PSM process, recommending improvements when warranted
- Performs other duties as assigned
