Submarine Maintenance Coordinator

Job Description

Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic (CSL) is responsible for providing the required personnel to facilitate the execution of maintenance on all assigned units. The Submarine Squadrons are responsible for direct oversight of the material condition and brokering of work to maintain assigned submarines ready for tasking.

To support these requirements, CSL provides the Groton based Squadrons with Material Officers responsible to the Commodore for the material condition of the each assigned submarine.

For work brokering, CSL provides Maintenance Coordinators to screen and coordinate when required work is accomplished.

The Submarine Maintenance Coordinator (SMC) will help in the contract tasking and is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

- Knowledge of ship and undersea operations, over the side operations, navigation, and fleet coordination
- Ability to plan and coordinate across multiple organizations in an integrated product team environment
- Ability to plan and coordinate maritime system installations
- Ability to brief issues to client leadership
- Provide support for the engineering of agile enterprise business systems and the relationship between business stakeholders and the engineering team
- Collect, review, analyze, evaluate, and manage stakeholder requirements
- Document scope and objectives for software engineering, customization, and testing activities
- Provide technical documentation, impact assessments, user training and support
- Support system operational maintenance tasks and updates and manage authorized service interruptions, updates, and releases
- Perform business systems analysis using various techniques, such as data mining
- Support development of best practices and develop actionable insights and recommendations for organizational operations or issues
- Work independently and as a team with project managers, software engineers, data analysts, data scientists, data engineers and other stakeholders to include other contractors supporting other business systems requirements
- Ensure data accuracy, availability, integrity, and confidentiality, and continuously evaluate new technologies for possible adoption and improvements to performance of existing solutions
- Perform System Administration on tactical information systems
- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, provide access control, monitor, and log analysis for Navy combat systems, Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS), tactical computer systems, and networks
- Troubleshoot and repair tactical hardware and software
- Perform a configuration management analysis of resources and maintain the configuration baseline status of Navy spaces
- Collect data to create a comprehensive list of integrated and interoperable systems and associated software
- Assess the feasibility of program offices providing technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) support for United States Marine Corps and Final Integration Testing events
- Serve as the information resource for client users
- Provide training to client users on the use of systems (as applicable)
- Remain knowledgeable of operations and the computer systems within the client environment to provide comprehensive support

Mid to Sr NCO with maintenance technician or supervisor background. Submariner, HUGE Plus.
