Job Description

In this hybrid role, you will become the face and voice of technical knowledge of complex optical systems. The medical and outdoor optical technology leader company is looking for a Service Technician based out of its North American Headquarters.

You will start training with the Field Service team, working, and learning the ins and outs of the technology, with hands-on training. You will shadow the existing Field team for 6-12 months nationally, learning this incredibly important technology's maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Once training is complete, you will work internally as an internal Service Engineer within the headquarter operation. You will be the internal subject matter expert of the equipment, helping the customers and external engineers with troubleshooting, understanding engineering concepts, and verifying correct troubleshooting processes as needed. As a hybrid role, you will also retain your hands-on experience as you will assist with equipment assembly before shipping to customers. You will also be a standby local Field Service Engineer for any local or emergency travel needs. However, the goal is for you to be local as much as possible.

Who are you? You are an electrical or electronic technician with working knowledge of troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing complex technologies. You should have incredible communication skills as you will interact with a wide range of people (customers, Field Service Engineers, and internal corporate leaders.) You will need to be comfortable with travel during the training period.
