Service Technician

Chicago, IL

Industry: Manufacturing, Other Job Number: A32FEAD4-DDD3-4A4A-B4E7-1828DBE15F0E Pay Rate: $55 - $65K

Job Description

Are you looking for a stable but dynamic career that will help grow you? This company, a century-old leader in industrial technology, is looking for highly-technical and customer service orientated technicians. In this role you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot and repair the equipment located at customers' locations within your assigned territory.

Your daily routine is simple yet will be dynamic as each customer and each product brings its own level of sophistication and expertise. Initially, you will start out learning the ropes of the job's key aspects, mainly maintenance duties at customers' locations. As you progress through their self-driven training courses, you will increase your ability to troubleshoot and work on much larger and more complex systems. This self-driven program also allows you to be the key motivator for your compensation progression. The more you learn and become certified, your compensation will adjust accordingly.

The company wants mechanical candidates or candidates who can learn mechanical systems. You will use mechanical, electronic, and electrical technologies. Besides the technical skills, you should have an excellent customer service attitude. They can teach you all you need to know how to work on their systems, but you need to have a customer-first mentality.
This is a Monday-Friday role, with travel happening in your local territory. You will be given a company vehicle to drive, so an excellent driving record and a valid license are required. You and your family can commit to having a great work-life balance by being home at night. The only exceptions are the occasional on-call emergency or training throughout the year. You should expect overnight travel to be less than 1-2 days per month.

The company has a significant history of hiring military veterans for these roles and showing them how to grow and expand their careers. The Branch Manager for this opening in the Midwest is a veteran and wants nothing more than to bring great veterans into his operational area.

Base salary, plus overtime that will vary based on schedule. Medical, dental, vision and a 401k. All travel is covered via the company car/van.
