Service Specialists Fire and Security

Our client has two Field Service roles open in this area; one will work primarily on Fire Alarm Systems and the other on Security Systems (such as access control, CCTV, electronic security, information technology, and/or building automation).

In this role you will install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm, security, and/or building automation with guidance as needed. You will interface with colleagues for the provision of technical support and training for the customer and as such are accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction.
They need someone who is familiar with and can interpret basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and can repair equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools to determine installation procedures. You will operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions and write routine programs for systems.
You will act as the customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring our client is the customer's first choice for service. You will take ownership of onsite project including safety, quality and performance. They also need someone with basic mechanical and electronic and/or electrical aptitude (for example, works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimpers).
You will need to show you can handle the scope of work which includes technical assistance, systems checkout of new and existing installations, troubleshooting and maintenance and repair routines associated with installed fire, security, and/or building automation systems and the installation of small or less complex projects.
You will also need good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, basic organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

For either the fire alarm or security role they need electronics technicians or possibly low voltage electricians who are good troubleshooters and problem solvers. They need have some networking experience and can learn and develop basic programming and integrating skills.
This is primarily a day shift role, but they need someone who is flexible, as at times they may have a customer who needs someone to come in at night or early morning; there is also the possibility of up to 25% overnight travel, mostly in Louisiana.
