Security Service Specialist

Carrollton, TX

Industry: IT/Cyber Sec/Software/Prog Job Number: 6157E598-705C-46F1-A45F-0C77EDBD16E9 Pay Rate: $60 - $70K

Job Description

This company's greatest strength is their people. They were founded on a set of core values and beliefs that express their responsibility to their customers, colleagues, and communities. Their culture and values match the culture of the military and they have hired and want to continue to hire veterans. Their culture promotes fun and laughter on a daily basis, and they believe in balanced lives: family, business and community and in creating a positive work environment. They want candidates who are looking for careers and not just a job. There is plenty of room for upward mobility for people who want to really learn and build a career within this industry.

They have a Military Transition Program (MTP) where they will be hiring Veterans for Installer and Technician positions in locations across the country. You will start your training in the area you are hired for but at some point you may have a 2 week class, most likely in Atlanta, company paid for additional training and on boarding to familiarize candidates not only with the technology they use but to the company culture.

They have a Security system specialist role that is a Field Service role that they are looking to hire for. In this role you will work under the mentorship of a Lead Specialist for clients mostly in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area but could at times go to other locations in the state with minimal if any overnight travel. You will be responsible for responding to routine and some non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours service calls on a timely basis; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for routine problems; install projects as necessary, including small to large projects that vary in complexity. You will also need to show you can assist in delivering assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules. At times, you may need to act as a key interface for technical support with the customer, training them on the installed systems and maximizing customer satisfaction, so communication and customer service skills are important for this role.

The key things they are looking for in this role are strong low voltage electronic system troubleshooting and repair experience to go along with strong networking and programming experience as you will be integrating systems. If you have these skills, they will train you on their systems but make sure you let them know if you have alarm or security system experience. On top of this, they emphasized that you will need to show you are a problem solver who is a self-starter that takes initiative, has energy and excitement to be in this industry.

This is primarily a day shift role with local travel as most of this client's locations are local, at times you may need to drive a few hours to get to a location, and may need to stay overnight. This is normally limited to about 2-3 or less overnights/year. It is also mostly a day shift role that works 7-4 or 8-5 but depending on customer needs you may be asked to work an evening shift from time to time, they usually do this on a rotational basis and does not happen that often.

Base salary DOE, full comprehensive benefits a company vehicle and tools provided.
