Radio Field Service Technician

Job Description
The Field Service Technician for the most part handles maintenance on these systems once they are installed and commissioned, driving a company provided vehicle to client sites each day. They need someone who can provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and broadband architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25 and data infrastructure.
You will need to maintain, optimize, test and document complex communications systems and provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments. They need candidates who have a very strong knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), and you must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls and bridges. You will also need to be capable of performing maintenance on server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system/application related issues.
You will also need to show you have strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams and that you are self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision. They also need a problem solver who can solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.
This is a Monday - Friday day shift role for the most part, doing mostly travelling day to day job site with occasional overnights, maybe twice a year. There is also a once every 7 weeks on call rotation and you are guaranteed 7 hours of overtime that week. There is also occasional overtime during the week, some weeks you may get 5-10, some weeks less, depending on the projects you are working on.

You will also need to show that you know communication systems from end-to-end system operation/performance/ deployment and are not just someone who swapped out bad boxes for a new one.
