Quality Assurance Tech Rep
You will also help with the training of contractor's as designated by the corporate office. You may be asked to assist contractors or sales reps with roof measurements, lay-outs, and other requests. Customer service skills are very important because you will be working with customers after a claim has been made.
For the most part, outside contractors install these roofs and you set your schedule based on theirs and the clients schedule to inspect them after installation or if there is an issue down the road. You will need to show you have strong communication and people skills as these are just as important as your problem solving/quality assurance skills.
Training includes: 6 weeks to 3 months of paid training you will be working with a trained rep in this area getting you up to speed. They will continue training if needed until you are ready to go out on your own. This training will help you become the expert and these contractors, sales reps and customers will depend on you for training and advice. At some point in your career, you may be the one asked to go into another territory to train a new rep.
This is a physically demanding role that will have you inspecting and repairing roofing. You will be climbing ladders and at times working on your hands and knees and they need someone who can handle this type of environment. (Depending on Covid-19, training will either be in Louisiana or at their corporate facility in Saginaw MI for 3-4 weeks. If in Saginaw, they will put you up locally and pay you for this time).
This position will be based out of the Shreveport, LA area and most days you will be within driving distance of home. Overnight travel would be minimal, a day or two a week. There is always the possibility that you may need to cover and help in another area for a week or so if there is no work in your area, so you must be willing to do that.
They would cover the Northern half of LA, SW corner of AR, SE corner of OK and NE corner of TX.
If you work a weekend you get overtime for Saturday at time and a half and on Sunday it is double-time.
