Job Description
The company is a 3rd party engineering consultant that works in the field of high sensitivity leak testing. They serve in the nuclear power, radioactive material transportation, petrochemical, hydrogen power, silicon chip manufacturing, pharmaceutical and other critical industries. Their technicians test on the following: helium mass spectrometer, pressure change measurement, mass flow measurement, bubble testing, halogen and sulfur hexafluoride, ultrasonic leak location testing, liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, and visual testing.
In this job, you are to create testing plans and procedures for the technicians to utilize while on-site at a customer's facility. The client wants to hire someone with an engineering background, or a technical background with an engineering degree (including but not limited to nuke officers, SWOs, or nuke MMs with engineering degrees).
They will train you on their leak testing specifics, but they need someone with an engineering mindset that has translatable skills. In this role, most of your work is done at your desk at their offices in Orlando, but you will be required to travel out to customer sites as needed for preview inspections and final inspections. After the initial training period, travel is limited. This is the type of job for someone who enjoys engineering concepts and creating plans that are effective testing procedures to meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
You will maintain a procedure development process that includes the following elements:
- Thorough review of technical specifications, drawings, and governing industry standards (such as, ASME BPVC, ANSI, ASTM, ISO, and so on)
- Test concept development, company internal board review, and initial client interface
- Procedure development and qualification
- Peer review of procedures
- Perform technician dry runs of procedures
