In this role you will install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm and life safety, and/or building automation with guidance as needed. You will interface with colleagues for the provision of technical support and training for the customer and as such is accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. They need someone who is familiar with and can interpret basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and can repair equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools to determine installation procedures. You will operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions and writes routine programs for systems. You will act as the customer's best service provider at all times thereby ensuring the Company is the customer's first choice for service. You will take ownership of onsite project including safety, quality and performance. They also need someone with basic mechanical and electrical aptitude (for example, works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, and crimper). You will also need good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and basic organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. In this role they need an Electronics Technician or Electrician with experience programming and integrating systems.
You must be willing to enroll in the state's apprenticeship program. The apprenticeship program lasts for three years. Apprentices work with a journeyman during this time and have to report their work hours to the state once a month. They also have to attend vocational training at a community college one night per week during the apprenticeship. All expenses for the apprenticeship are paid by the Company.
Once you complete your apprenticeship you will get a company vehicle. Until then you either drive their own car or sometimes you can ride with a journeyman on long trips.
$22 - $26/hr. DOE + overtime
