This is a fast-paced environment and they need a strong leader who will direct and coach production operators in the execution of daily/weekly production schedule for multiple packaging lines. Coordinates beverages packaging ensuring maximum safety, quality and productivity while minimizing waste. They need someone who will drive the continuous improvement agenda through teamwork, skills, and capability development. You will also need strong computer skills and the ability to understand and apply moderately complex mathematical concepts, to include managing department financial data. They need an excellent motivator and leader who is process driven with excellent communication skills, which you will need to demonstrate in constant daily communication to supervisors, peers and reports. You must also be able to effectively prepare and present information. While this is a Production Supervisor position, it is very equipment heavy, so any maintenance/technical background will a bonus. There are Maintenance and Quality Supervisors, but the Production Supervisor is ultimately responsible they all report to this role, so you will coordinate and lead them, but you and your production team will be making sure the equipment stays up and running at all times.
At this time, they need someone who can work first or second shift depending on what works better for the right candidate, (first is 4: 30 am to 1: 30 pm, 2nd is 1: 30 to 9: 30 or when the work is done, usually 9-10 hours but can be more) that work Monday - Friday. This position works long hours especially in the summer (peak season), expect to work every 2nd or 3rd weekend from May to September. For the most part the rest of the year you will have 5-day work weeks with occasional weekend work.
Supervisors usually come in an hour before shift and leave late to receive and deliver updates to and from other supervisors. There is great opportunity for upward mobility, they need people capable of advancing to department manager positions or other leadership roles, here or at other facilities once they prove themselves in this role, which depending on performance, could be in 2-3 years.
Salary is $75 - $85k or more for Engineering experience, and a great benefits package. Upward mobility for strong performers within 2-3 years.
