Job Description

A manufacturer of sealed Insulating Glass (IG) and smart glass units for the window market is looking for a Process Engineer in their Minneapolis, MN location. This company is the largest residential glass supplier in the US, with 40+ facilities located throughout the country. This organization is a management-owned company founded in 1962 that has grown to more than 7, 000 employees.

This company is developing a next generation smart glass to disrupt the current residential window market. The Liquid Crystal team is adding to their diverse talent set to fuel our innovation cycle, develop next generation products, creatively solve problems, and implement new processing technologies.

This position will support CliC pilot line operations and apply lean principles to systematically identify value stream improvement opportunities, get their hands dirty implementing solutions, work alongside technicians troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, develop and refine standard operating procedures, perform predictive analysis, and improve maintenance procedures.

Job responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain a value stream map for the pilot line process
- Apply lean techniques to identify and eliminate waste
- Learn to operate pilot line equipment, understand process parameters, and lead projects to stabilize process outputs
- Work with maintenance engineers and technicians to improve preventive maintenance procedures, minimize equipment downtime, and improve product yields
- Identify required spare parts for manufacturing equipment and optimize spare parts inventory
- Suggest equipment modifications to increase machine efficiency reduce downtime and reduce changeover time
- Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on pilot line equipment as issues arise
- Establish initial conditions required for maintenance (such as Lock Out/Tag Out, de-energized)
- Work with the R&D and Quality engineers to address quality concerns and product performance



Base salary, benefits and 401k and profit sharing after 90 days. There is a sign on bonus to fill gap in between.
