Job Description

Welcome to an opportunity with a company that highly values military veterans. Their leadership team includes numerous veterans, showcasing their commitment to those who have served. We previously placed an aviation officer who has thrived in a different role at this location.

They are currently seeking a Plant Engineer for their asphalt processing facility in Inwood, West Virginia, where asphalt for roofing shingles is produced. The Plant Engineer will lead a small maintenance team, drive plant improvement initiatives, prevent equipment failures through preventative maintenance, perform root cause analysis, and oversee ongoing training and equipment enhancements.

Essential Job Functions:

- Design and execute plant improvement projects by developing and implementing initiatives to enhance plant efficiency
- Manage the annual maintenance and capital expenditure budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation
- Utilize data and statistical methods to make informed decisions and enhance processes to align with corporate and plant objectives
- Create reports for executive review and submission to the Facility Manager
- Oversee the reliability program activities, including mobile asset management, to achieve plant reliability goals
- Ensure the effectiveness of predictive and preventative maintenance activities in support of the reliability program
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to program execution and efficiency
- Provide leadership and personnel management to the maintenance team, emphasizing company values and culture, setting performance expectations, offering feedback, and administering discipline when necessary

- Collaborate closely with operations and corporate teams to incorporate equipment reliability considerations into all project phases, equipment procurement, maintenance vendor selection, and spare part management
- Establish and adopt standards to enhance equipment reliability, covering areas such as preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, equipment procurement, spare parts, rebuilds, and installation
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance and operations personnel regarding equipment and reliability issues and technologies
- Recommend innovative solutions to extend equipment and facility lifespan while reducing maintenance costs by analyzing repetitive equipment failures and breakdowns
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures
- Complete first aid and CPR training and serve as a first responder during plant emergencies.

Instead of a bonus, they put together a stronger base salary, with a broad range DOE.
