Operator/Technician Roles

This company has several Operator/Technician type roles that are separate but similar and they are looking for candidates with mechanical aptitude who will be trained to operate equipment in either a packaging line or processing system and be trained to do the daily preventative maintenance on it.

They have three different roles:

The QA Lab Technician is responsible for testing incoming ingredients, batches, processing and finished products to assure compliance to company standards. Part of the work includes monitoring critical control points to ensure adequacy of the plant's HAACP program along with executing Micro requirements and adherence to Quality and Food Safety systems. This person will be responsible for performing chemical testing on ingredients and products such as LECO proteins, ash oven, air oven, acid hydrolysis fats, NIR analysis, mycotoxins, and routing lab functions. The individual that is selected for the role is expected to become proficient on all lab equipment and product standards.

The Making Technician safely and efficiently receives, analyzes, and processes raw ingredients through four major areas/systems (receiving, batching, extrusion, and flavor enhancement) to make high quality pet food that meets or exceeds all specifications set by the Company in the amount and schedule dictated by business needs. You will perform all the following duties on a rotational basis in the processing area of the plant. This includes operating all systems, performing all quality checks, maintaining conformance reports and system logs, and troubleshooting all aspects of each system: Extrusion - extrude mixed meal and dry kibbles that meet all quality specifications and optimize plant capacity.

The Production/Packing Technician role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area. Production Technicians must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. Production Technicians must have the skill set to train and perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed.

All of these positions require strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills, to support site objectives:
- Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within a line or area
- Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Takes corrective actions in solving problems to root cause level

They need mechanically mined candidates who are willing to learn and grow with a Fortune 100 company.

These are rotating shift Monday - Friday roles that spend 2 weeks on first, 2 weeks on second and 2 weeks on third shift and there is overtime always available.

$20 - $22/hr + 5-10 hours overtime + 5% business unit and 3% site bonus (dependent on results). Great benefits plan cheap Medical/Dental/Vision, 3 weeks vacation to start. 401k 6% match, 6% pension, free life insurance, no relocation, but sign on bonus that you get by 4th paycheck.
