In conjunction with the management team, the manufacturing operations manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacturing operations of the Company. The manufacturing operations managers is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, and efficiency of the department. The manufacturing operations manager must have experience in a manufacturing environment and be familiar with lean manufacturing processes.

The right candidate must be a proven leader who is well-prepared to contribute to the strategic planning that impacts the future of the business. They must also the ability to be a hands-on leader, working with the various department leads and employees to ensure the established goals are met.

Responsibilities:

Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.

Purchase materials, plan inventory, oversee plant efficiency.

Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.

Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.

Direct and monitor department group leaders to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Act as liaison between department group leaders/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.

Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data. Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.

Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (for example, training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, and so on).
