Job Description

An organization that designs and manufactures advanced heavy-duty alternators and related technologies that power current and future vehicles and systems for specialized markets is looking to fill some consultative sales positions. Their customers are the leading producers of military, mining, fire and emergency, bus, and railroad maintenance vehicles.

Power generation is critical to their customers' applications, and they demand the highest reliability, product innovation, and creative problem solving that the industry has to offer. They currently have an opening in their Marketing and Sales Department for a Commercial Market Manager in the fire/emergency business segment and a Military Market Manager for solutions for military and other specialty vehicle applications.

This position is based out of their Evanston, IL headquarters. The selected candidate will work cross-functionally with the executive team, sales counterparts, engineering, and other departments to execute market strategy to deliver increased OEM sales at existing customers, develop new customers, and provide customer support.


- Assist with all sales and marketing related activities reporting to the Global Manager
- Travel to prime contractors, OEMs, and government facilities in the US and internationally to promote the product line, power management solutions, and provide on-site customer support
- Manage/coordinate assigned domestic and international customer accounts
- Participate in all trade show activity including assistance with coordinating registration, booth setup, teardown, and shipment back to the company
- Initiate customer driven design project collaborating with the customer's engineering team and the company's engineering, quality, supply chain, and production
- Prepare written quotations in response to requests for quotations
- Review technical specifications and standards
- Review Prime Contractor terms and conditions for purchase orders and contracts
- Maintain product forecasts in the MRP system

This organization has a long history of hiring military veterans. They have hired a sales candidate that has been with the team for 5 years and another that is retiring after 20 years. They have a great training program and will make sure candidates succeed. Travel is 20%.
