Job Description
The quality department is a service organization within their company. The department supports production and must be nimble in response to issues as they arise while ensuring that product quality is not compromised. This position will be responsible for managing, operating, and programming the CMM (coordinate measuring machine). Experience with portable or articulated arm CMM equipment such as Hexagon, FARO arm or equivalent is desired.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Programming CMM and use with PC-DMIS software
Experience with portable or articulated arm CMM equipment such as Hexagon, FARO arm or equivalent preferred
Experience with GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) for close tolerance machining and dimensioning, and should
be able to read, apply and interpret GD&T drawings.
Inspection of close tolerance parts to ensure component compliance with all written standards, drawings, and other
requirements
Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to efficiently manage workload and use of resources
Start projects and assignments and manage to completion
Able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
Ensure component compliance with all written standards, drawings, and other requirements
Accurately complete quality and traceability documentation for all activities
Effectively work alongside a cross-functional team to accurately collect and disseminate quality information at all
levels of the organization
Ability to write reports, documents, and procedures
Experienced with metric and standard dimensional inspection and ability to perform calculations to convert from one
system to the other
Must be hands on with inspections, providing solutions to issues
Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, MRP systems, Oracle
Use and care of measuring tools and instruments including calipers, mics, height gauge, and so on
