Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

Providence, RI

Industry: Manufacturing, Other Job Number: 9FD5FCDD-2052-4A70-82E7-D8975CC1EB3B Pay Rate: $100 - $120K

Job Description

Our client is a leader in heat transfer systems and technology, and they are looking for a leader to help drive continuous improvement projects at their facility in the Northeast. The company has a strong history and is organizationally led by a former military veteran who sees the value in continuing to focus on military hires.

The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor drives the manufacturing process and contributes to cost containment objectives, by managing the manufacturing, process, tools, and equipment within corporate quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

You will lead a team of 2-3 other engineers and a few interns to help decipher the best processes and systems to deploy to decrease waste, increase productivity, and manage a significant capital project that will be in place over the next few years. Although this is a short-term project, in the long run, this has exceptionally high visibility for site operations and the company.

The Engineering department provides the production with the necessary equipment, tooling, processes, and so on. This department plans, installs, designs, builds, and maintains new equipment to enable production to manufacture a quality product at optimum cost. In addition, the department provides process troubleshooting and prepares quality corrective actions. The Supervisor recommends new project-use technologies based on price, safety, efficiency, and other considerations.

The Supervisor receives technical guidance and assistance from the corporate staff. Most activities require responding to situations requiring individual judgment, although policies or procedures cover most activities. The candidate may provide technical guidance to the quality control and production regarding manufacturing-related issues and to personnel concerning OSHA compliance.

The Supervisor has supervisory responsibility for employees, including hiring, attendance, productivity, performance evaluation, coaching, discipline, and discharge activities.

Who are you? You are a military leader with exceptional continuous improvement experience and deployment. Your education is backed by an engineering degree that helps solidify your standing as a subject matter expert within the world of CI. Additionally, you are someone with the leadership experience to manage a small group of people effectively and help them grow and develop.

This is a Monday - Friday, 8am? 5pm type of role (exact hours will vary) that allows you to grow and develop your leadership skills. This would be an excellent position for someone who wants to build their skills to learn to manage a site themselves.

Salary plus full benefits (medical, dental, vision, and a 401k). Benefits available on your first day of employment.
