Job Description
In this role the Plant Maintenance Mechanic oversees all of the electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment and associated systems for the facility, grounds, and production equipment. You will install, repair, erect, dismantle, assemble, and maintain all plant machinery, equipment, structures, electrical or electronic equipment, and parts. This is a jack of all trades maintenance role that will require experience and interest in developing various skills. Those skills will be diverse in mechanical, electrical, and electronic controls to help operate and maintain the on-site equipment.
The current hiring manager has experience in hiring and developing military veterans and wants those outstanding technical skills and leadership qualities found in the military. The manager wants the military "culture explicitly" when it comes to showing up, putting a good day's work in, operating safely, and being part of a more significant team focus.
The factory is located in Southeastern Virginia, close to historic areas and within a manageable drive to larger cities or suburban landscapes. The company operates in other locations across the US that can be opportunities for career expansion if interested.
This position does require shift rotations that are five by two, five days working, two days off. This is not a work from home or hybrid role. If selected for the next step, you will go onsite to assess skills and experiences, possibly by a tour and interview. Then, the company will determine your overall fit and hopefully make an offer consistent with their operational equity.
