Job Description

Our client is seeking top military veteran maintainers/troubleshooters to service clients in the Pacific Northwest and Western regions. They help facility-based wireline, ISP and wireless telecom clients with locating, engineering and consulting for network deployment. They are partners with engineering departments in evaluating new construction or renovation of existing facilities. By employing the latest project management techniques, their customers are assured timely and cost-efficient completion of highly technical projects;handling any and all aspects of a sites mechanical, electrical engineering requirements including AC electrical, air handling, DC power, super structure, generator and fire protection. They are also capable of installing communications systems including transport, router and local area networks. Following project completion, they support customer's communication and network systems with quick response times and equipment related service.

Job description/requirements:

- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to travel regionally up to three weeks at a time, several times a year
- Complete expense reports and time sheets weekly
- Manage assigned helpers and subcontractors
- Conduct load testing of batteries with associated equipment
- Interpret manufacturer's data sheets to obtain data and instructions for rectifiers, inverters, converters, controllers, and battery systems
- Provide customer training on power systems
- Provide employee training on audit procedures
- Complete audit reports accurately and submit within 48 hours of leaving job site
- Create scope of work for any repairs, needed additions, and retrofits identified during audits and testing
- Continue to gain knowledge on telecom grounding standards and new power products
- Perform all work in a safe manner

Desired skills/experience:

- Basic DC and AC power theory
- Basic alarm and control theory
- Working knowledge of DC power equipment operation
- Proficient in use of DC test equipment and meters
- Working knowledge of telecom grounding standards
- Proficient in use of computer and MS Excel and Word programs

- Ability to evaluate existing DC power systems for:

- Potential safety or service hazards
- Proper engineering and capacities
