Maintenance Technician

Job Description
The canning group is looking for a mechanic on night shift to perform all mechanical functions related to achieving optimal fruit quality and efficiencies for the can line. Because of Covid, they have not been able to do any preventative maintenance and now that things are rolling again, there is a lot of work to be done, meaning a lot of overtime which will pay well. They are looking for people who can perform equipment startups and setups on boilers, pumps, seamers and so on.
Mechanical responsibilities:
- Performs equipment startups and setups each morning, including boilers, pumps, seamers, and so on
- Performs maintenance, repairs and rebuilding of motors, conveyor belts, seamers, palletizers, and cooker/retorts
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment to minimize down-time and reacts with urgency to any equipment malfunction that arises
- Follows Lean Manufacturing principles for continuous improvement and waste reduction
- Performs machine changeovers during shift
- Communicates with machine operators and supervisor
- Performs and assists with other duties in the department as needed
- Routinely checks that all guards and safety sensors are in place
- Lubricates motors and gear boxes according to PM schedule
- Identifies and performs any other preventive maintenance that is needed

Base salary DOE with full benefits that start on day 1. 3% 401k match, 9 holidays, PTO, sick days.
