You will be expected to troubleshoot, and repair worn parts and equipment and perform preventive maintenance and repairs as assigned to meet production and operational requirements. You will repair, clean, lubricate and adjust any and all plant equipment making sure it is working in a proper and safe manner, ensuring that the equipment is performing correctly. You will need to become proficient at and be able to drive plant equipment, such as forklifts, jig lifts and trucks. They need someone who will take the time to learn and become very familiar with doing daily repair jobs on plant equipment. You will also troubleshoot jobs to be able to get list of parts needed to complete repairs in a timely manner. You will need to show that you can be assertive and self-motivated and coordinate work efforts with other plant personnel. You will need to show you have strong communication skills and are able to communicate problems or issues to Senior Mechanic and Maintenance Manager to be able to suggest improvements in overall operations.
They have openings on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift...1st starts at 7 am, 2nd shift starts at 4, and 3rd starts at 11 pm, Monday thru Thursday working 9 1/2 hour shifts + 8 hours on Fridays, so there is some built in overtime. There is also weekend overtime for preventive maintenance and special projects. You must be able to work overtime and on weekends as required.
Your first week will be spent with them not only on-boarding you but also assisting you in getting your Texas state license if you don't have it, getting and apartment (they have local apartment building with reasonable rent and waived deposit fee, company pays for first week). That first week you get paid for a 40 hour week.
$24.87 an hour to start after 90 days go to $25.02 + .25 for 2nd and .50 for third shift. Built in overtime and other overtime that will be at least 10 hours/week. First year should be $65 - $70. They have local apartments set up at reasonable cost, they pay for first week.
