Maintenance Manager

Primary responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, along with fabricating metal parts and tools
- Manages projects relating to facilities, process improvements, and equipment installations
- Interviewing, hiring, training and development of maintenance employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performances; rewarding and disciplining maintenance employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Reports to the Operations Manager

Duties:
- Directs workers in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and facilities
- Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment
- Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling and installing production machinery
- Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts
- Analyzes production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments
- Provides daily influent and effluent water readings
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
- Ensures that the workplace is operated and maintained in a safe and hygienic condition
- Investigates accidents involving workers and completes the Supervisor's Accident Investigation Report form
- Interprets specification, blueprints and job orders to workers and assigns duties
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of the product
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop department and crew
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
- Maintains time and production records
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
- Performs activities of workers supervised
