Lifecycle Services Engineer

Our client is looking for a Lifecycle Engineer to join their fast paced, customer-oriented Lifecycle Services team. The successful candidate would assist the Control System engineering customers and project teams in the development, delivery, on-going maintenance and optimization of state-of-the-art process control solutions for industrial customers.

Location: Richmond, VA area (also possible for Raleigh, NC, if you are open to first working out of Richmond and can transition to NC over time).

This is a customer-facing position requiring travel to our customers' manufacturing sites to help commission and maintain their control systems. Candidates must be able to work with customers in a professional manner while working under pressure during process startups and while troubleshooting issues. Typically, scopes of work include control panel grounding verification and commissioning, software installation and staging of server and network equipment, performance audits, performing cybersecurity assessments and system patching, designing virtual computer infrastructure, and troubleshooting electrical and equipment issues.

- 80-90% Regional travel to customer sites (25-50% overnight) within North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia
- Perform System Performance Audits on customer systems
- Distributed Control System commissioning and startup
- Distributed Control System troubleshooting and problem resolution
- On-site control system modifications and tuning
- Participation with multiple active control system customers
- Coordination of field services engineering team
- Conduct Maintenance training
- Assist in the quotation and technical sales support of control system field service solutions
- Troubleshoot field instrumentation and valve related situations
- Troubleshoot and install Microsoft operating systems
- Troubleshoot computer related problems
- Troubleshoot and install networks (hardwired and wireless
- Setup interfaces to PLCs, Drives and Bus-Based Networks
- Setup Active Directories, Terminal Services and User Accounts

- Ability to respond to Emergency Service Requests as needed
- Ability to meet project team commitments and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of customer project team
- Ability to provide clear and timely written documentation including field service reports, project updates, and time and expense reports
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Desire to participate in on-going learning (latest technologies)
- Ability to transition back and forth between several tasks
- Knowledge of Industrial Safety Practices and PPE
- Be a United States Citizen with a valid driver's license

Education and experience - B.S. Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical degree
