Founded in 1978, the company operates through a global network of 25 subsidiary offices and more than 200 distributors in over 120 countries employing over 2, 600 people worldwide with manufacturing facilities in the UK, China, Germany, India, Sweden, and the USA.
As an Installation Engineer, you will travel to locations including customers, vendors, and company offices. This travel is Monday through Friday, and mostly home on the weekends. You will learn to install high-end industrial printers and accessories at customer sites. You will provide technical (product) and health and safety training to customers; therefore, you should have incredible communication skills.
Technically, you should be well-rounded in electronics, electrical systems, and basic mechanical aspects. The installation does not require you to fix their systems but understanding how they work to troubleshoot and perform quality inspections is important. Your soft skills should include being prepared, professional, and diverse as you will interact with managers, operators, maintenance staff, and other people in your daily communication. You need to be timely in your written, verbal, and electronic responses and are able "close the loop" with questions when needed. Professionalism is the key to success in this role. Sometimes you will act as a backup to help repair systems as back-end coverage for the service team.
The travel will be national in scope. Although the company is hiring in regions, you can be in more than just in your area. Your travel will be weekly, and mostly home on the weekend. Please confirm with your family that you are open to the amount of weekly travel required.
