Heavy Field Service Technician

As a Heavy Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repair of material handling and construction equipment. In this role, you will evaluate equipment to determine needed repairs, performing repairs while providing quote information for customers.

This is a great opportunity that will get you certified directly by the equipment manufacturer as a Taylor Master Technician and Cummins Certified.

Responsibilities:

- Driving to customer location to evaluate job
- Assess environment and scope of work to determine safest way to proceed
- Evaluate equipment based on reported problem
- Diagnose malfunctioning equipment
- Discuss evaluation with customer and provide estimated time for completion
- Communicate with parts department to order or quote parts pricing to customer
- Follow any current policies
- Order necessary parts
- Replace faulty parts
- Repair unit to bring it to operational and safety standards
- Follow customer direction on what is to be done and what is not to be done
- Provide information on repairs to leadership
- Manage time efficiently
- Participate in on-call rotating schedule and responding as required when on-call
- Assist other technicians as needed or directed by supervisor
- Maintain truck/van in safe and clean condition
- Perform Warranty Requirements Preventative Maintenance
- Follow manufacturer procedures when repairing a unit under warranty
- Complete necessary paperwork
- Tag and return all defective parts to/or notify the Field Service Coordinator, to be placed in bin following local policy on parts warranty, tagging and returning to Parts Manager
- Perform Requirements of Driving Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV){for techs driving a DOT rated vehicle}
- Maintain record of duty status and hours of service that meet FMCSA requirements
- Complete annual certification of traffic violations form
- Perform daily pre inspections of vehicle
- Have knowledge of short haul operation exemptions
- Assist New Sales Department
- Complete New Sales Department prep and paperwork on larger equipment in the field

Normal working hours are from 7-4 with an average of 5-10 hours in overtime a week.

Will be required to pass a DOT physical.

You will receive 1 week paid vacation 1st year and 2 weeks upon 2nd year paid holidays and additional 5 sick days
