Flight Test Engineer
Fort Worth, TX US
Job Description
The Flight Test Engineer will provide technical knowledge and leadership as the company develops advanced avionics and flight control systems. You will be tasked with providing system definition, new product assessment/testing, evaluation of alternative technology/systems, and development and hands-on integration of the product line.
Unlike other types of engineering roles, the company believes that its small, but nimble operation gives them an advantage and makes its engineering teams cross-functional. Meaning, you won't just be in an office laying out designs. You will be with the customer (national and international) and helping to decipher how the products work in real-time and what tweaks should be made.
You will work with others, including interfacing with internal and external project teams, company personnel (engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, programs, business development, customer support), and the customer community.
You will be involved in the certification of their products. Your analytical skills and ability to plan and lead engineering activities will be challenged daily. Although the company is in Texas, you should be open to travel internationally when needed to help support the customers that rely on these product lines.
Who are you? The company is looking for an engineer with a formal engineering education who has experience as a pilot in fixed-wing or rotary wing aircraft. You should be self-motivated, responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The work is on-site at their operation outside of Fort Worth and does not require shift rotation. This is a Monday-Friday, day-shift operation.
The organization believes its best employees for this role come from an engineering and aviation (pilot) community from the military. These employees are already in place, and the hope is to expand on that experience as the company continues to grow. The hiring manager is former military and looks forward to developing talent internally.
Base salary, plus medical, dental, vision and a 401k.
