Memphis, TN

Job Description

This is company's greatest strength is their people. They were founded on a set of core values and beliefs that express their responsibility to their customers, colleagues, and communities. Their culture and values match the culture of the military and they have hired and want to continue to hire veterans. Their culture promotes fun and laughter on a daily basis, believes in balanced lives: family, business and community and creates a positive work environment. They want candidates who are looking for careers and not just a job. There is plenty of room for upward mobility for people who want to really learn and build a career within this industry.

They have started a Military Transition Program (MTP) where they will be hiring veterans for Installer and Technician positions in locations across the country, and they have hired dozens of veterans over the last few years. Most veterans fit in very well with their team, a culture of teamwork, safety and dedicated people who are accomplishing a job that helps save lives.

They have Fire Alarm and Security Technician roles they are looking to hire for. In these roles you will be responsible for installing, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned fire, security, and/or building automation projects including small to large projects that vary in complexity. This location is currently hiring installers who will need to use their electronic troubleshooting and repair skills to install and integrate systems; you will need to be able to troubleshoot and repair electronic systems.

Most of the work for these locations will be with fire alarm systems but you may also work on security or other electronic systems from time to time, like access control and AV technical systems. You will also need to show you can assist in delivering assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules. At times, you may need to act as a key interface for technical support with the customer, training them on the installed systems and maximizing customer satisfaction, so communication and customer service skills are important for this role.

The key things they are looking for in this role are strong low voltage electronic system troubleshooting and repair experience to go along with networking experience as you will be integrating systems. You must be able to read a multi-meter and do voltage calculations. On top of this, they emphasized that you would need to show you are a problem solver who is a self-starter that takes initiative, and has the energy and excitement to be in this industry.

You will start off either riding along with an experienced technician or trailing them in your own company provided vehicle, learning your craft and getting certified as a Security and Fire Alarm Technician. Once you are trained and up to speed, you may work with a team on a project or you may work on your own at times as well. You will usually leave from your home and go directly to job sites. Once you reach this point you will only be reporting to the facility for meetings or if your truck needs replenishing. Most materials will be delivered directly to job sites.

This is primarily a day shift role that starts at 6am as many of their clients are local K-12 schools. There is little if any overnight travel for these locations, except for training purposes. They do have an on-call rotation that comes up once every 7- 8 weeks for a week. During this week you will receive a weekly stipend and get paid overtime for any call you go out on, getting paid for windshield time.

Base salary DOE plus overtime and full comprehensive benefits. A company vehicle is provided from day one at these locations.
