Field Service Technician

Job Description

As a Field Service Technician you will be responsible for maintaining a relationship with the customer base whether it is directly with the end user or the dealer network. You will need to show you have strong communication skills to accomplish this. They need someone who can provide commissioning and service work for all industrial air pollution equipment furnished by the company. You will need to show you can effectively repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic control areas, and promote the sales of parts and services.

They are really focusing on the electrical experience, including being able to use a multi-meter to check fuses, troubleshoot contactors, verify power, troubleshoot 3-phase motors, and so on. Any PLC knowledge is helpful, but they will train the right candidate if they do not have it, they also need someone who is mechanically inclined.

Some of the equipment you will be working on includes vehicle exhaust, baghouses, fans, oil mist collectors, pipe systems, source capture hoods, electrical controls, spark detection systems and mechanical conveyors. At times you will be working in a lift at heights of 20-30 feet (sometimes more) so this is something you must be comfortable with. They will provide you with on the job training; you will shadow a seasoned Service Tech, watching, taking notes and working side by side with them for 60-90 days or until you are comfortable working on your own. While this is a very autonomous role, you will have back office support when needed.

This is a road warrior role that is anywhere from 60-80% overnight travel. You can reside in the following geographic area: DFW (preferred), Houston or Austin metro areas, but this is a road warrior role, and you will be out the door Monday mornings, traveling in a company provided van (or flying) to customer locations. You will be mostly responsible for the SW region: LA, AR, MO, KS, OK, TX, NM, CO, and the West Coast as required. However, they may be required to travel outside their coverage area due to job / staffing demands. Most weeks you will be home on Thursday nights, working from home on Friday, making travel plans for the following week or filing expenses and other reports.

Base salary, with no cap on overtime. $55 per diem, company van, gas card and credit card. Great benefits to include medical, dental, and more.
