Field Service Technician

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and client training of state-of-the-art packaging equipment in an assigned territory. They need someone who is able to troubleshoot basic mechanical, electronic and operational aspects of machines. You will be responsible for excellent customer service and territory management as you will be working very independently once you are trained and up to speed.

Training will be in Kansas City at their corporate training facility for up to six months of in house and in the field training. Your commitment to your customer base will ultimately increase your compensation by providing exemplary customer service to Company clients, visiting them not only for PMs or troubleshooting but also courtesy visits to see how things are going. You will be part of a national service team that provides the highest quality, most responsive customer driven service and support, helping to advance the company's leadership position in the food, industrial, and medical packaging industries.

This is a 90% travel position where you will leave on Monday and be back on Friday most weeks. Once every 5 weeks you will work a weekend, but weekend work is paid double-time. You work out of your home, leaving on Monday and usually are on the road for all or most of the week. You will communicate with a scheduler on a daily basis to give updates on current jobs status and receive additional job assignments. You will be getting a company vehicle that can be used for personal use. Training will start in Kansas City at their corporate training facility and out in the field working with experienced Field Service Techs. The amount of time spent in training is dependent on you and how quickly you learn but could be up to 6 months. Once fully trained you will start in your location, at first working with another FSE and there is usually more yearly training back in KC.

Pay is $27 - $29/hr + 10-15 hours of overtime each week, first year will be $80k+ with 10 hours, over $90k with 15 hours of overtime. Weekend, double time overtime also available.
Strong electronics background along with some mechanical experience, i.e. equipment installation, repair and maintenance
Great training where you will learn about state-of-the-art technology. If you like to travel and work with different people each day, this is the job for you. 90% travel where you are out of door on Monday morning and not back until Friday most weeks with some weekend work when needed for double-time.
