Field Service Technician
Atlanta, GA US
The company has customers nationwide who depend on this technology daily, and it is operationally critical. You will provide exceptional communication, training, and technical support to these customers by performing the duties related to commissioning (start-up), training, service, maintenance, and repair of the technology in place.
The organization realizes that most, if not all, people from the military have never worked on their technology before. Considering the company has a history of hiring military talent and the head of the service group is a former military veteran, they focus on the technical parallels they use in their daily work. They will put you through an intensive training program that outlines the company's processes, administration, technical knowledge, and field support to help you get off to the right start. They also have an incredible internal support team that will help guide you if needed. However, one of the cornerstones of a successful candidate is being able to troubleshoot systems with limited supervision.
You will work primarily Monday - Friday, starting at 8am, (some longer days, some shorter.) You will focus on the regional territory that you support and is mostly windshield time (driving to customers.) There will be very few overnight trips throughout the year. You will be required to support your team with other employees who are out sick or on vacation occasionally.
Who are you? You are an outstanding customer service-driven person with a natural curiosity for technology. You enjoy learning new things because it helps you be a better technician. Your skill set is steeped in electrical knowledge, yet you are comfortable using basic hand tools and tend to have a mechanical mindset. Please highlight if you have any experience in HVAC (combustion) or Automotive Repair experience as these skills come in handy. Also, if you have any experience with PLCs or variable frequency drives, that's a bonus, but not required.
The organization requires a basic but confident knowledge of reading/interpreting electrical schematics and the use of a multimeter. Be prepared to talk through your "A" school theory and how you would troubleshoot a system using those primary tools at your disposal.
The company is growing, with new business being acquired, they are looking for additional strong technicians to support their needs.
Base salary, a 401k, full benefits, to include medical, dental, and vision. A company truck, laptop, and cell phone are provided.
