Field Service Technician - Material Handling & Auxilliaries
Position provides in depth customer service for startup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting/repair, of material handling and auxiliary equipment associated with the Plastics Manufacturing Industry.
Material Handling Division includes dryers, temperature control units, chillers, vacuum loaders, vacuum pumps, central conveying systems and controls. Equipment generally used in the early/initial manufacturing process. Experience requirements will focus on electrical/electronic systems and controls. Relevant associated degree or advanced technical training preferred.
You must be able to troubleshoot equipment and system problems and issues, determine technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommend actions to company and customer representatives for solution. Support will primarily be provided by traveling to customers' locations, and outstanding customer service skills are priority.
Up to 70% overnight travel during the week, but home on the weekends. This position supports nationwide service coverage, although generally in the surrounding region.
Compensation will include an initial hourly rate of around $21 - $22/hr. Extensive overtime (10+ hours/week) calculations will add significantly to your annual take home $$ for both roles! Expect $65 - $75k+ first year, with great room for growth! Positions also include a company vehicle (for South Elgin location after 90 days, Torrington location will be given mileage reimbursement), tool/technology issue, expense card for travel and business-related expenses, as well as per diem allowances for overnight travel.
