Job Description

Client has a long history of successfully hiring veterans for this role and is targeting a veteran for this hire. The hiring manager for this role is a veteran.
The Field Service Support Engineer will ensure optimum operational performance for hardware related to equipment installed at the customer's site. They deliver technical services to customers including installation, relocation, repair and preventative maintenance.

Customer skills:

- Learn and understand how the customer uses the product
- Repairs customer equipment
- Learn unique customer requirements
- Understands the cost of system failure to the customer
- Utilizes proper customer etiquette and proper attire
- Professional customer communication skills
- Protocol for office, lab, manufacturing environments
- Proper site visit exit communication

Product skills:

- Understanding of the unique customer configuration materials and software used
- Awareness of the customer's expertise, capability, and willingness to do self-maintenance
- Performs preventive maintenance as directed by Service Manager
- Understands the value of the customer's total business
- Understands warranty and contract status of the customer
- Understands and can explain the value of upgrades to the customer
- Learn and understand the full material portfolio and can articulate the benefits of different material offerings

Technical Skills:

- Use of an oscilloscope
- Proficient with the use and types of common hand tools
- Multi-meters
- Laser power meters
- Vacuum gauges
- Use of calipers, gauge blocks, and other precision measurement tools

Base salary, profit sharing bonus, average 10 hours of overtime a week. A cell phone, laptop, tools, are provided, all expenses reimbursed. Relocation assistance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, ST/LT disability, life assurance, AD&D, EAP, a 401k w 3% match, 2 weeks PTO.
