Field Service Representative

The client will often ask some very direct technical questions. They may ask you to draw the symbol for an electrical or electronic component as it would appear on a schematic.
They will ask you "What does the symbol for a diode look like?" Or "what is the number 10 in hexadecimal?" They have also been known to ask what is Ohm's Law or an Amp is a measurement of what? (Current). What are RJ45 cable ends? What current is coming out of a wall socket? (120 volts or less). Put this number (x) in binary or how would you represent this number in binary?
Strong training skills, instructor or trainer experience is a plus. Knowledge in electronics and mechanical work required.
You must have a good (not perfect, but good) credit rating in order to qualify for a corporate card. Need a credit score about/close to 700 (or better of course).
Strong communications skills required to work with clients at their sites.
Anticipate approximately 70% travel. The upside to all the travel, is that the scenery changes constantly. You will not be going to the same factory or repair shop every day. Also, you keep all air miles, hotel points, and so on, for your own personal use. Field service reps take a "free" vacation every other year or so by cashing in all those reward points they have racked up just by doing their job.
You must have a passport.
Overtime! Really good annual bonus. Starting base pay target is $55k, but total pay is significantly higher with overtime. Easily make $65 - $70k and annual bonus on top of that. Air miles and hotel points are yours to use for vacations! Base pay applies to 40 hours each week, then time and a half after that.
Company pays 100% dental for employee and family and 100% of life and disability insurance for the employee and a higher than normal percentage of health insurance premium.
