Field Service Rep

This is a job for a mature individual with good judgement, reliability and initiative. You will work from home with no day to day supervision. You are treated as mature adult, trusted to get the job done. Your territory is all of both North and South Dakota, so it involves a lot of driving time and some overnights each month. However, there will also be a few days a month that you just work from home to catch up on paperwork or pack up equipment to ship for overhaul. You will need about 150 sq. Ft. Of space at your home for office/equipment storage.
You will earn overtime at time and a half (safe to say you will average close to 50 hours a week for about 10 hours of overtime) and you will also earn commissions on any sales you happen to make. There is a sales rep, so you are not responsible nor required to sell products or services but if you do in the course of your normal duties and conversations with clients, then you earn a commission.
Responsible for managing a service territory. Provides effective, proficient, and timely service and repairs to all customers in direct support of the sales and service efforts to gain and maintain customer loyalty. Manages service requirements and business for both the EMS and Bed & Stretcher organizations. Grows the service business in the territory through the selling of service parts, billable labor and travel, and coordinating with sales to identify and close service contracts.
Repair equipment according to Company specifications and perform all required quality control checks and preventive maintenance in accordance with the products operation manual. Keep inventory accurate by doing service reports on all calls. Ensure all routine company vehicle usage and maintenance is preformed according to company policy. Troubleshoot equipment problems, including fault isolation and diagnosis at account locations to ensure equipment is operating at maximum level and is cosmetically presentable. Ship and receive equipment and supplies. Regular and punctual attendance. Wear standard uniform provided by the company each workday. Participate in any and all work assignments as may be deemed suitable and assigned by management. Provide non-clinical technical support on equipment operation to appropriate account personnel. Present the highest level of customer etiquette in support of the sales team and promote increased equipment and service usage by establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships. Must adhere to Service metrics. Must be computer literate. Adhere to proper expense reporting procedures and will be accountable for a territory budget. Ability to write and present contract proposals to customers. Ability to perform product evaluations at the customer's site.
The company wants you to live in Rapid City or Bismarck and can help with a relocation package to get you moved. You will train for two straight weeks in Redmond, WA before assuming your territory and will have on the job mentoring. There is an entire team working the Dakotas and even after you are up to speed there is a team meeting via Skype at least once a month to get advice and assistance and just keep each other informed.
