Field Service Project Manager

The Field Service Project Manager has overall responsibility for the commercial and technical execution of projects involving construction, installation, commissioning and maintenance of rotating equipment and their associated facilities in the oil, gas and energy industries. As an onsite representative, this role manages the site team and the expectations of the project stakeholders. This role implements processes and controls to ensure the projects meet the objectives of the Company and satisfy the client's expectations. The FSPM coordinates and understands Field Service activities and labor requirements with local unions in respective geographic regions.

Reviews project inquiries and takes necessary coordination with Sales, Field Service and other internal departments.
Conducts a site survey as required for technical and commercial proposal.
Prepares and issues technical proposals including work scope, project plan and manpower plan for Field Service projects.
Prepares and collects cost data of projects' man-hours, materials and equipment necessary for project implementation so that Sales Team can make commercial proposal.
Technically supports Sales and Sales Representatives in presenting proposals to customers.
Takes an active role in conducting necessary meetings with customers while projects are being implemented.
Prepares necessary risk assessments and rigging studies for the projects.
Initiates project order entry and issues corresponding purchase orders, both internal and external.
Takes an active role in ensuring all work is performed in a safe manner to prevent injury to personnel and equipment including preparation and conducting toolbox talks.
Makes courtesy calls to check inventories, promote parts sales, inspect new shipments and sell service in conjunction with Service Sales Engineer.
Keeps Field Service Manager promptly and thoroughly informed on all work performed, quality, performance, equipment problems, and customer reaction to equipment.
Performs advance planning to avoid delays and reduce profits. Defines problems expeditiously and makes critical decisions, involving upper management as necessary.
Directs the execution of invoicing on progress payment orders by monitoring order progress against contractual milestones.
Promotes customer good will through effective communication and cooperation with customers personnel.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field; in lieu of degree, equivalent work experience with steam turbine generators, rotating and reciprocating equipment will be considered.
Technical field experience in the turbomachinery industry, including Outage projects, and/or leadership / supervisory experience is required. Experience as a Project Manager is a plus.
Supervisory skills to direct and coordinate teams of approximately 5 to 20 lead engineers/representatives and labor assigned to projects.
Proficient skills in MS Office and project scheduling software.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, layouts and schedules as well as to write technical reports and work method statements.
Willingness and ability to travel 50% to 75%, domestic and internationally.
Must have or be able to obtain a passport and a TWIC card.
Extensive experience with turbine construction, emplacement and maintenance. Experience in leading teams, and being a hands on technician.
