Field Service Engineer
Providence, RI US
Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer, you are the face of the company. You will take your technical knowledge from the military and provide installation, maintenance (preventative and repair), and emergency service work within your designated territory. Although you are working on this technology by yourself, you are in constant contact with other FSEs across the US to provide collaborative insight on how to best repair and install the technology. Your work will include working with basic electrical/electronic equipment including custom PCs that allow you to remote into the systems. You will also be coordinating efforts and services with contractors and other 3rd parties to allow you to accomplish your role effectively.
Our client wants to hire a self-starter who is self-motivated to work independently with limited supervision. This does not mean you won't have support. Because you absolutely do. You need to be someone who has electrical/electronic/and computer knowledge. You should be comfortable working with multimeters and versed in understanding IPs to correctly set up a network. The company will train in those areas where you may be weaker in your skill sets. However, you should be able to demonstrate that you are an expert in the military technologies that you worked on. This will give confidence to the hiring team that you can be trained within their specific areas. You should also be an exceptional communicator as you will interact with a wide variety of customers and internal colleagues.
This is a travel role, based out of your home. The assignments are scheduled, and you should be able to travel unencumbered on a weekly basis to the customer's locations. Training for the position will be a mix of courses at their headquarters in the Northeast as well as on-the-job training that you shadow senior FSEs.
The company's leadership seeks military talent and wants to increase their veteran position in their industry. As you progress in this company, you'll have opportunities to move into Senior FSE roles or consider moving into other areas of the company based on experience and desire.
Competitive salary, 401k with employer match, holidays, and paid time off, and medical, dental, and vision plans.
