In this role, you will become the "tech rep" for one of the leading companies in marine propulsion; interfacing with government points of contact to perform onsite inspections and based on these inspections advise the customers on possible maintenance, repairs or retrofits on propulsion related equipment, and the controls of those systems. You will participate with improvement of new products. Also, it will be important for you to identify failures, making adjustments, assist on (sea) trial runs and testing of propulsion equipment according to instructions and protocols. Being a tech-rep for the company means also promoting the company products and services. This will include preparing timesheets, service reports and travel expenses on time and with expected company quality. There will be requirements to check and adjust the relevant systems while interfacing with the customers, and of course of the proper documentation and work reports to track your progress within the company standards.
This is travel role. With this travel you will rotate "in" working at the Chesapeake Service Center or "out" traveling out to customers and where ever their ships/boats are. Any military installation (mostly Navy and Coast Guard) will be likely locations to your travel that will last from a few days to 1-3 weeks.
