FIeld Service Technician
Florida, FL US
Job Description
The company has a nationwide network of customers who depend on this technology daily, and it is critical to their operations. You will provide exceptional communication, training, and technical support to these customers by performing the duties related to commissioning (start-up), training, service, maintenance, and repair of the technology being used.
The organization realizes that most, if not all, people from the military have never worked on their technology before. The company has a history of hiring military talent and the head of the service group is a former military veteran, they focus on the technical parallels they use in their daily work. They will put you through an intensive training program that outlines the company's processes, administration, technical knowledge, and field support to help you get off to the right start. They also have an incredible internal support team that will help guide you if needed. However, one of the cornerstones of a successful candidate is being able to troubleshoot systems with limited supervision.
The role is primarily Monday - Friday, 8am position (some longer days, some shorter.) In this role, you will be focusing on the regional territory that you support and is mostly windshield time (driving to customers daily.) There will be very few overnight trips. Occasionally you will be required to support your team with other employees who are out sick or on vacation.
Who are you? You are an outstanding customer service-driven person with a natural curiosity for technology. You enjoy learning new things because it helps you be a better technician. Your skill set is steeped in electrical/electronic knowledge, yet you are comfortable using basic hand tools and tend to have a mechanical mindset. Please highlight if you have any experience in HVAC or automotive repair experience as these skills come in handy. Also, if you have any experience with PLCs or variable frequency drives, that's a bonus but not required.
The organization requires a basic but confident knowledge of reading/interpreting electrical schematics and a multimeter. Be prepared to talk through your A school theory and how you would troubleshoot a system using those primary tools at your disposal.
The company is growing based on new business being acquired and is looking for a strong grouping of additional technicians to support their needs. Unlike other Field Service roles, this position gives you and your family an outstanding work/life balance, which their employees love.
Base salary, plus overtime, and a 401k. A company truck, laptop, cell phone and full benefits including medical, dental, and vision.
