Equipment Engineer

Austin, TX

Industry: Chemicals/Semicond./Textiles Job Number: 7625F8BE-9A62-4E8B-BF4D-6A583F8F1A5A Pay Rate: $80 - $90K

Job Description

This company designs, develops, manufactures, and services incredibly complex and cutting-edge machines used by the world's most influential technology organizations. This company creates value for its customers by solving some of their customer's most complex challenges, which enables technology for a more connected, sustainable, and convenient world.

In this role, you will be a Field Service Engineer eager to learn the company's processes and equipment to support their Fortune 100 client. You will be trained and developed to handle the installation, calibration, repair, and preventative maintenance of semiconductor equipment.

This client is incredibly dynamic and has high demands for the work and effectiveness of their partners. The role is based at their customer's location in Taylor, TX, just outside Austin, TX. Although the role title is Field Service, most of your work will be at the customer's location, supporting their needs and developing a professional relationship with the client. So, you should be able to demonstrate confidence in your technical ability and interpersonal communication style.

The role can involve domestic and international travel as needed for training. That travel and training will be significant for the first six months. In the future, that could include travel to support customers' needs. However, this is unlike most Field Service roles in that the intention is for you to keep their customer onsite much of the time unless the business needs dictate otherwise.

Who are you? You are an exceptional electronic troubleshooter who can use essential test tools (multimeters) to troubleshoot technical problems. Also, it would be best to have exposure to other aspects of industrial skills like mechanical, electrical, chemistry, and networking. Their technology ties into all of these areas, so the more you have exposure to them, the faster your development. Please highlight any of these skills in your conversations or talk with your representative if unsure if there would be value.

It's important to note that the client they support has very high expectations. You must maintain a higher standard and hold your team accountable to strive for perfection in your technical work. Issues that cause failures cannot happen as it could lead to catastrophic consequences in their operation and how it impacts the industry.

There is will be opportunities to volunteer for overtime once you are trained and qualified, which can take 6-12 months, depending on the candidate's learning ability.

Salary plus overtime when qualified. Profit sharing bonus targeted at 7.5% of your salary. Medical, dental, vision plans, and a 401k.
