Job Description

An organization that designs and manufactures advanced heavy-duty alternators and related technologies that power current and future vehicles and systems for specialized markets is looking to fill a Document Control Specialist. Their customers are the leading producers of military, mining, fire and emergency, bus, and railroad maintenance vehicles. Power generation is critical to their customers, applications and they demand the highest reliability, product innovation, and creative problem solving that the industry has to offer. Their headquarters and manufacturing site is in Evanston, IL.

Responsibilities:

- Implement Engineering Document Control activities including preparing, reviewing, processing, and coordinating approval of engineering change orders (ECO)
- Create new documentation or update existing documentation to accurately reflect design changes, including bills of material (BOM) and technical drawings
- Review drawings for accuracy and consistency with associated BOMs and other necessary documents and standards
- Communicate effectively to ensure proper notifications and processing of ECOs and approvals and subsequent provision of updated materials
- Maintain databases to capture status of all ECOs and associated documents
- Manage and maintain the consolidation and archiving of ECO documentation for later retrieval

This person is a very important part of the product process from Sales to the customer. If any changes are made through the process, they must be reviewed, documented, and approved. Looking for candidates with engineering and quality backgrounds that want get into the process side of the company's products and the engineering side of design and changes, also be able to read engineering drawings.
