In this role you will be responsible for planning scheduled maintenance to take place during periodic plant shutdowns. You will put together comprehensive project plans to include the plant's maintenance team and contractors. You will work with vendors on capital projects. Your customer is the plant manager who will count on you to ensure the maintenance projects are completed and the plant is reliably running thereafter. You will support multiple plants your region and the relationship you have with your customer ultimately dictates how effective you are in your job. You must be an organized self-starter who can ask lots of questions and influence shutdown stakeholders.
To be competitive for this position you must have very solid steam plant experience. A nuclear background is preferred but not required. You will see approximately 50% overnight travel in this role with most of the shutdowns occurring in the Spring and Fall. Time away from home can range from a few days to a few weeks. Work is primarily M - F but during shutdowns you can expect to work longer hours. With most of your support being regional, you should be able to get home frequently even on longer shutdowns. Expect closer to 75% travel in the Spring of 2017 for training, then your schedule to settle out thereafter.
